Talented Year 12 student Libby Sherwood is part of the National Youth Orchestra who will be featured on Radio 3 this evening commencing at 7.30. The show will be dedicated to a performance by the Orchestra who performed at the Barbican on Sunday 5 January.
Libby who plays violin was only recently awarded a place in the prestigious National Youth Orchestra, which is believed to be one of the most important artistic institutions in the world and has inspired many of the world’s greatest conductors, composers and performers, including Sir Simon Rattle, Chief Conductor and Artistic Director, Berlin Philharmonic.
The show will feature a piece premiered by the orchestra, which was composed by Larry Groves called ‘The Rules’ and another piece called Mahler 5. To listen please tune in FM: 90.2 MHz – 92.6 MHz.
