A winning regional team from Beauchamp College travelled to Lancaster on Friday 15 November to compete against ten other schools from all over the country in their bid to win the nationals of the Lionheart Challenge. Review by Simran Babu 11JBR I was delighted when I got told that I was in the winning team of the Lionheart Challenge Finals. I thought that it was overall an amazing experience that benefited me in many different ways. I have learnt so much and gained lots of different skills within the business area. I believe I worked well in my team and played an important role within it. I was the market researcher alongside Reena Pattni. It was very tough as we had a strict deadline that we had to meet in order to stay ahead of the other teams and to gain points. I felt like I was under a lot of pressure but managed to meet the deadline with two sheets of high standard research. I then helped out all my team members with any problems they had. As a team, we all supported and helped each other and I believe we worked very well as a team. There were no arguments or disagreements that affected us or our work which was excellent! The presentation that our team presented to all the other schools and judges was extremely good with the added value of humour, hence why we won the ‘Best Presentation Award’. We were really proud of ourselves and proud of our team presenters Louie and Aiman. The evening event was just fantastic as we could let our hair down after a very busy and pressurised day. Everyone had a laugh and enjoyed the company of all the different colleges and schools that took part. Overall, the Lionheart Challenge and trip was a great experience and really did teach me a lot of new skills and helped me to meet new people and make friends. I feel privileged that I got the chance to participate in such a fantastic and memorable experience. |
