Congratulations to Laurie Wilkes in year 13, who has won a prestigious competition hosted by the University of Lincoln. This is a national competition and Laurie beat off tough competition.
Laurie had to answer such questions as “Estimate the distance from which the tower of Lincoln Cathedral appears the same size as the diameter of the Sun.” and “How many sequences of length 10 can be composed of two letters A and B (in various proportions) such that no two letters B stand next to each other?”
