Year 10 student Regan Jeffrey will be travelling this week to Australia to represent England at the International Children’s Games in Lake Macquarie. He will be part of a team of eight swimmers hoping to come home with a gold medal. Regan who is a member of the City of Leicester Swimming Club will be competing in the 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke, the 200 individual medley and the team relay events. He is extremely excited at the opportunity of being part of an international competition and to measure himself against competitors from other countries. Swimming has been a big part of Regans life especially since he started competing at the age of nine and his dedication to the sport involves training eight times a week including before his college day. Regan has been supported by the Robert Mitchell Distinguished Awards, which is a bursary award, which is based at Beauchamp College, which helps current and past students to achieve their dreams. As a college we wish Regan all the best and look forward to seeing how well he does. |
